The hotel has quiet location close enough to the Peak District as well as Chatsworth House. Besides, it was 15 min drive to Birchen Edge.

Grand old and relaxing hotel with free parking and absolutely perfect location in a beautiful area of the country surrounded by rolling hills. Location right by the main restaurant and other guests, the wonderful gardens and the outskirts of Baslow.

The dining experience was exquisite, yet the lounge area lacked staff attention.

I stayed in the Superior Double Room and it was pretty comfy. The room was spacious and clean, with nice toiletries and those little touches like complimentary water. It did feel a bit cramped in the bathroom, and I could hear noise from the neighboring rooms. The bed was comfy enough, and the decor had a charming vibe, but I wouldn't say it was perfect.

wonderful access to chatsworth park and charming villages nearby
I enjoyed lovely walks in chatsworth park, just a short stroll of about 1.5 km away, and the amazing views from birchen edge with a good hiking opportunity almost 3 km from the hotel. The staff were warm and attentive.

The scenery is amazing, and we were able to explore some great walking trails along the countryside with our dog. The room was spacious, comfortable, and stocked with quality toiletries.
My kids wished there were more options for kid-friendly activities. A small play area would be fantastic!

Lovely escape in a fine spot
Spent a cozy night at this beautiful manor house. The atmosphere was super relaxed. Breakfast was fantastic-great produce! Just a bit bummed there wasn't a proper table near the armchairs to set our drinks on. The garden was a real treat, though!
